Data from small RCTs provides inconsistent evidence that a Paleolithic diet produces weight loss for obese individuals (BMI >27 kg/m2 or with waist circumference >94 cm) in the short term (three months) compared to a Mediterranean-like diet, a diabetic diet or a low fat/high fibre diet.
