RCTs have consistently found that the ingestion of cranberry juice or supplements decreases adhesion of bacteria to the cells lining the urinary tract in a dose-dependent way.
 
[C] The following conclusions are supported by limited evidence or expert opinion:

Results of RCTs on taking cranberry to prevent symptomatic urinary tract infections (UTI) in those who are particularly vulnerable to UTIs are not consistent.
