Constipation
Constipation during cancer treatment can be caused by a number of factors (1,2). The primary cause of constipation in cancer patients receiving treatment is medication-induced constipation, mainly as a result of opioids used for pain management. Other medications, such as some chemotherapy agents (3), anticholinergic and antiemetic medications can also induce constipation.
