Goals for an individual with diabetes should be determined in conjunction with the client, and should be specific to the individual. Goals should be time-sensitive, easily measured, and achievable by the nutrition intervention. Both short-term and long-term goals may be set. Examples of short- and long-term goals include:
  • to decrease the frequency of eating at fast food restaurants from eight times per week to three times per week before the next scheduled visit
  • to address individual nutrition
