Disease Etiology
Dementia is a generic term that indicates a decline in mental function including memory, thinking, and judgement, a deterioration in the ability to perform basic activities of daily living, and often changes in social behaviour (1). Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common cause of dementia, accounting for 50-70% of cases (1).
