Disease Etiology
The gallbladder is a small a pear-shaped organ that stores bile made in the liver (1). Bile is a dark green to yellowish/brown substance that aids the digestion of fat in the small intestine. It is released when the gallbladder contracts after the ingestion of fat and releases bile into the duodenum via the common bile duct.
