[C] The following conclusions are supported by limited evidence or expert opinion:

When used as recommended, the benefits of chlorination as a sanitation tool outweigh the concerns for potentially harmful byproducts such as Trihalomethanes (THMs).

 

Based on the limited information currently available, Health Canada is not recommending that consumers change their soft-drink consumption habits because of recent reports of high benzene levels.
