Importance of Topic to Practice
The assessment of a child’s growth is the single most useful tool for defining health and nutritional status in children at both the individual and population levels (1-4). Disturbances in health and nutrition, regardless of their cause almost always affect growth (1). Growth monitoring and promotion of optimal growth are essential components of primary health care for infants and children (1-4).
