[B] The following conclusions are supported by fair evidence:
Amaranth grains can be safely consumed by individuals with celiac disease.  
 
Data from clinical trials conducted in healthy normocholesterolemic and hypercholesterolemic adults indicates that consuming barley beta-glucan (3 g/day) can decrease total cholesterol (TC) in the range of 1.1. to 7.5% and LDL-cholesterol (LDL-C) in the range of 0 to 8.5%, but has no effect on HDL-cholesterol (HDL-C) or triglyceride levels.
