[C] The following conclusions are supported by limited evidence or expert opinion:
Adults and children with type 1 diabetes (T1DM) are at higher risk of developing celiac disease (CD). They should be monitored closely with a low threshold for initiating screening; symptoms may or may not be present. Although the majority of practice guidelines recommend that individuals with T1DM be screened for CD, there is currently a lack of consensus amongst all guidelines.
