Disease Etiology
Obesity is defined as a condition where there is excess body fat (1). High levels of body fat are associated with increasing health risks (2). At its most basic level, obesity develops when there is an imbalance between energy input and output, i.e. consuming too much food and not being active enough (1,3-5). Factors that can upset energy balance include diet, physical activity and sedentary behaviour (1,2). However, this seemingly simple energy in-energy out
