[B] The following conclusions are supported by fair evidence:
Consensus-based guidelines recommend intravenous rehydration (with multivitamins, particularly thiamin) for women who cannot tolerate oral liquids for a prolonged period or if clinical signs of dehydration are present. A clinical trial reported similar outcomes using rehydration with 5% dextrose/0.9% saline compared to 0.9% saline for women at their first hospitalization for hyperemesis gravidarum.
