Goals for a pregnant woman should be determined in conjunction with the client, and should be specific to the individual. Goals should be time-sensitive, easily measured, and achievable by the nutrition intervention. Both short-term and long-term goals may be set. Examples of short- and long-term goals include:
  • to increase the number of servings of vegetables and fruit to eight servings per day, by the next scheduled appointment  
  • to eat a healthy diet throughout the pregnancy while avoiding
