[B] The following conclusions are supported by fair evidence:

Observational studies indicate that the prevalence and the amount of crying associated with infant colic are similar in breastfed and formula-fed infants. Breastfeeding may not have a protective effect against colic but neither is it detrimental. Therefore, mothers who are breastfeeding should be encouraged to continue to breastfeed.
